*The membership in BAAST is subject to the conditions for membership in BOTA as well as the regulations and the internal rules of the Association as follows:
Rights and obligations:
Art. 8. (1) The
membership in the association is voluntary. Members
can be individuals and legal entities. In
the association there can be regular, honorary members and
correspondents.
(2) A regular member of
the association may be any legal entity ,
which shares the goals of the association and the means to achieve
them, fulfills its statute and regularly pays its membership fee.
(3)
A regular member of the association may be any
adult who shares the goals of the association and the means to
achieve them and is a physician or a specialist in higher education,
working in the field of orthopedics and traumatology and the related
disciplines, fulfills his statute and pays regularly membership fees.
(4) Members’ rights and obligations are non-transferable and do not pass to others in case of death or termination of membership. Exercise of membership rights is to be given to another by proxy authorization with notarized signature.
Art. 9. Every regular
member of the association is entitled:
to participate in the activities of the
association and in the work of the General Assembly;
to be elected to its governing bodies;
to supervise the work of the association and the governing
bodies;
to be
informed the activity of the association;
to use the property of the association and the
results of its activity;
to
elect and be elected as a delegate to national congresses and
conferences.
Art. 10. Every regular
member of the association is obligated:
to pay the membership fee regularly;
to fulfill the statute of the association and to
work for its achievements
to
work to increase the assets of the association and to raise the
public authority;
to
make efforts to raise the level of his medical and specialization
knowledge, to follow the achievements in the field of the
specialty;
to
participate actively in the activities of the association (branch,
section) by attending convenes meetings and report to them the
results of their scientific research and results of their
practice;
to be a
model for moral and professional behavior.
Art.
11. (1) For honorary members of the association
may be proclaimed:
A/ Bulgarian
citizens with special scientific researches and achievements in the
field of orthopedics and traumatology;
B/
Foreign scientists known for their achievements in
the field of orthopedics and traumatology or have decisive merit for
the development of the Bulgarian orthopedics and traumatology.
(2)
Honorary members are nominated according to a
procedure approved by the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria and the
Bulgarian Medical Association and are elected by the General Assembly
of the Association. In a solemn setting
they are awarded an honorary membership certificate. They
are exempted from membership fee and all other fees for participation
in events organized by the association.
Acquisition
of membership
Art. 12. The
members of the association are accepted by the General Assembly,
after their written request is submitted to the Management Board,
which considers the application mandatory within one month and
submits the nomination to the General Assembly. Acceptance
of a member shall be made public by an open vote and simple
majority.
Termination of membership
Art.
13. (1) A membership is terminated:
with a unilateral declaration of will to the
association;
with
death or complete restraint;
with
exclusion;
with the termination of
the legal entity – member of the association;
with drop out.
Upon
termination of a membership, property relations between the former
member or his successors and the association shall be settled upon
acceptance of a General Assembly accounting report. In
case of unpaid obligations of the former member to the association
they are deducted from his receivables from the association.
The decision on exclusion shall be taken by the
General Assembly on the proposal of the Management Board of the
association in the presence of guilty conduct which makes further
membership incompatible or in the event of a proven violation of the
moral code of the medical professionals.
Membership cancellation occurs in case of a
systematic non-payment of the membership fee and non-participation in
the activity of the association. Systematic
non-payment of the membership fee occurs when the fee for the year is
not paid by the end of the first trimester of next year. The
cancellation shall be ascertained by the Management Board and by a
duly decision which terminates the membership.
