XVIII Conference and new leadership of BAAST

From 15 to 17 May the XVIII Conference of BAAST was held, where Dr. Maxim Zagorov took office as the Chairman of the Association. Dr. Mihail Vuldjev was elected Vice-Chairman and Dr. Philip Koynarski was appointed Secretary.

The new leadership started its working activity with a request for the development and promotion of arthroscopic surgery in Bulgaria and improvement of the educational and qualification level of the association members.

In addition to presenting and discussing current trends and scientific advances at the annual BAAST conference with international participation, emphasis will be placed on information interactive exchange through the association’s website and social networks, relying on the active participation of the entire arthroscopic community in the country.

At the end of 2020, our quarterly ESSKA Newsletter was replaced by a monthly publication called The ESSKA Times. This new format still includes everything that is of utmost interest to our members, but it will be more timely, adding dynamism and instantaneity to the information delivered.

If you have an idea of an article for The ESSKA Times or have any questions, please send an email to info@esska.org.

AAOS 2020 Annual Meeting – CANCELED

After much consideration and discussion, the Academy Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting scheduled for March 24-28, 2020 at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC).

The largest orthopaedic gathering in the nation, the AAOS Annual Meeting was set to host 479 presentations, 250,000 net square feet of exhibit space and 27,000 attendees from around the world. But, the ongoing spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) has been a serious concern for us all, and its implications have substantially affected the logistics of the meeting.

More details and information on our website and through our social media channels in the coming days.
